A very fine dark green powder which produces a dark green liquor with a slight sarsaparilla character. Considered as the healthiest tea available as you ingest the whole leaf, not just the liquor.
To brew, pour freshly drawn boiled water that has cooled for 2 minutes (70 - 80 degrees) onto the matcha and stir gently until the matcha has dissolved into the water. This should take a few seconds, after which whisk more rigorously to add air into the mixture.
For an authentic experience mix in a tea bowl with a bamboo whisk until the tea is frothy.
